SELECTIONS
The international Summer School will take place from September 7th to September 25th, 2015. Participation is open to students attending the 3rd year of Bachelor Degree Courses and to students attending a Master in Architecture, Design, Engineering and Planning, as well as to PhD reserch students (in disciplines of architecture and urban planning). The program is restricted to a maximum number of 80 selected members.
The students have to submit the completed application form via the website (www.intschool.polimi.it) page menu REGISTRATION. The application must be accompanied by a scientific curriculum and a letter of motivation (maximum 2 A4 pages).
There are two deadlines for entries:
15-06-2015 | by June 22nd, 2015 the applicants will be confirmed by e-mail by the directors of the school. The entry fee is euro 180€ and must be paid by June 29th, 2015.
30-06-2015 | by July 6th, 2015 the applicants will be confirmed by e-mail by the directors of the school. The entry fee is euro 250€ and must be paid by July 13th, 2015.
The fee includes weekday evening meals and teaching materials (printing, workshop CD and some models materials). On request of the partIcipants, the organization can book accomodation at hostels at cost of € 20,00 per night (bed&breakfast).
CERTIFICATIONS
For each participant, the OC International Summer School will release an official certificate of attendance. For participants enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree and Master in Architecture from the School of Architecture of Politecnico di Milano, the 8 CFU can be used as the intership credits required for graduation or as elective courses. The workshop may have different credit values for other universities.
The projects and study models developed during the school may be shown in exhibitions and collected into publications by Politecnico di Milano.
MAQUETTE WORKSHOP & FAB-LAB From 2015 the Campus Arata is equipped with a new laboratory for the models, the goal of which is the production and construction of plastics/models. The students enrolled to the International Summer School OC OPEN CITY will have access to the rooms of the laboratory, located in the Padiglione Bacciocchi, utilizing – along with the rules in force – spaces, tools and informatics equipment. Will be enhanced conventions so that, during the 3 week workshop, the students will have access to the Urban Hub in Piacenza (located in the Giardini Merluzzo, close to the Campus), developing synergies and collaborations with authorities and societies that appear in Fab Lab, which represents the first result of a journey that the Politecnico di Milano has shared with institutions and civil society to develop initiatives intended to support and increase the chances of action in the world of knowledge and creativity.
AWARDS “Fondazione degli Architetti di Parma e Piacenza” is sponsoring the 2015 Piacenza Award. The three projects deemed most deserving by the international jury, will be awarded at the end of the event with a ceremony. |
